Common Questions
Is the initial consultation really free?
Yes. Your initial consultation is completely complimentary. During this visit, we’ll discuss your concerns, perform an orthodontic evaluation, and review any recommended treatment options—all with no obligation to begin treatment.
Do you take my insurance?
We are happy to verify and maximize your orthodontic insurance benefits for any insurance plan and will explain your coverage before treatment begins.
For Iowa state-sponsored plans, we accept:
- Hawk-i: New patients of all ages.
- Dental Wellness Plan (DWP)/Iowa Medicaid: New patients ages 11 and above.
How much does treatment cost?
Our most common comprehensive treatment fee is $6,750 before any applicable orthodontic insurance benefits are applied. The exact fee may very based on case complexity. Early interceptive treatment and simpler cases will be lower fees.
When should my child have their first orthodontic evaluation?
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends an initial orthodontic evaluation by age 7. At this stage, we can identify developing bite or alignment concerns and determine whether treatment is needed, monitoring is appropriate, or no intervention is necessary at all. Early evaluations help ensure your child’s smile is developing properly.
What can I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit includes a conversation about your goals and concerns, followed by an examination by one of our board-certified orthodontists. If treatment is recommended, we may take diagnostic records such as photos, x-rays, or 3D scans and develop a personalized treatment plan designed specifically for your smile.
